Ok, so I was looking at the new World By Us dolls in the AG catalog the other day, when I noticed that there was something a little strange looking with their eyes. Curious, I jumped on the AG website and did a zoom in on their eyes. And as it turns out, there was something a little strange with their eyes. They had eye lashes painted under their eyes!
Now if you’re thinking, “Eye lashes painted under their eyes? So what?”, Then you probably haven’t noticed, that most American Girl dolls typically don’t have eye lashes painted under their eyes. However, for some reason, the World By Us dolls do.

See this zoomed in picture of Evette? Now look closely under her eyes. See? There are eye lashes painted under them. It’s the same with Maritza, and Makena’s eyes.

Truly Me #91 and all of the other Truly Me dolls however, do not have any eye lashes painted under their eyes. And it’s also the same with all of the historical dolls except for Nanea!

See what I mean? Nanea also has eye lashes painted under her eyes just like with Evette. I’m really curious about why American Girl would decide to paint eye lashes only under Nanea, Evette, Maritza, and Makena’s eyes, instead of doing it with all of their dolls. Personally, I don’t really care whether or not a doll has eye lashes painted under their eyes, but I would like to know why so far, only four dolls have been made that way.
Hope you all have a great week!

I think the WBU dolls have painted eyelashes because they’re older (13) whereas the other dolls are younger — but that doesn’t explain Nanea’s lashes!! 👀

wow i never noticed that. I think Nanea might have the eyelashes painted on her because, they want to make her more unique so she will sell better, or maybe they are trying to start a new trend. Hopefully they will realease that news soon. Bye for now

I noticed their painted eyelashes as well and wondered why some have them. The dolls are pretty with the painted lashes and without them!
