“Luke Sky-walk-er! Luke Sky-walk-er! Luke Sky-walk-er!” Ethan chanted loudly.
“Do you have to treat Star Wars movies like a sports game?” Lea asked, rolling her eyes.
“Well it is funner that way- Oh! Come on! Darth Vader totally just…..wait. WHAT?!!!!! DARTH VADER IS LUKE SKYWALKER’S FATHER?!!!!!!” Ethan screamed.
“Yes, Ethan. Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker’s father. But do you really have to act so dramatic? You’ve known that for years!” said Lea.
“I can’t help it! It’s just a lot more fun than just sitting still the whole time!” Ethan complained.
“Well, I’ve gotta go finish my school project,” said Lea, sliding off the couch.
“Fine! You do that! And miss out on spending quality time with your brother by watching the best Star Wars movie ever!” Ethan said in mocking sadness.
“Empire Strikes Back is only the best Star Wars movie ever in your opinion!” Lea said skipping out of the room.
She stepped into the bedroom that she shared with Linda and Courtney and stopped short.
The bedroom looked as though it had just been attacked by an alien invasion….or more like a fashion invasion! Clothes, scrunchies, and twisty pets were all over the floor and furniture!
“*cough, cough*” coughed Lea.
Linda and Courtney looked up.
“Um, hey guys, not to be rude or anything, but you two really need to clean this room up,” said Lea.
“Awwwwww,” said Linda and Courtney.
“But we’re in the middle of planning our afternoon fashion show!” Courtney arguded.
“Yeah!” said Linda. “Can’t we clean up later?”
“Fiiiiiine. As long as you two promise to clean up this place before dinner,” Lea said reluctantly.
“We promise!” they both said.
Guess I’ll just have to finish my project in Tenny’s room, thought Lea.
After lunch, Linda and Courtney made an announcement.
“Attention everyone!” said Linda. “Me and Courtney would like everyone to please report to the living room for our annual Saturday fashion show!”
Linda and Courtney showcased a lot of, um, creative outfits that they had come up with this morning.
“So is the bedroom cleaned yet?” Lea asked them after the show.
“Um, well no, not yet anyway,” Courtney said sheepishly.
“Well, I would really appreciate it if you guys would clean it up now that your fashion show is over,” said Lea.
Courtney and Linda went back up to their room and stared at it for a long minute.
“Well, I guess we’d better get started,” Courtney sighed.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right,” said Linda.
They cleaned up for about ten minutes when Linda found something under the bed.
“Hey Court! Look what I found!” exclaimed Linda.
“What is it?” asked Courtney.
“I found my old tablet!” Linda said holding it up.
“Ooooooo, does it still work?” asked Courney.
“It should,” Linda said pushing the ‘on’ button.
“It does!” exclaimed Courtney. “Hey, try clicking on one of the apps!”
Linda clicked on the cooking game, and started to play it.
“I forgot how much I loved this game!” Linda said laughing. “I haven’t played on this tablet for years!”
“Seriously?” asked Courtney. “Why on earth did you stop playing on it?”
“Don’t remember,” Linda answered. “Want a turn?”
“Sure!” said Courtney eagerly.
Now Iām not going to go into details, but let’s just say that Linda and Courtney got a little, um…….distracted.
“Knock, knock,” Lea said walking into the bedroom.
She looked around. It was the same scene as earlier, clothes, scrunchies, and twisty pets were all over the floor………along with a giant blanket monster in the corner.
Lea frowned and walked toward the ‘monster’.
She picked up the blanket and threw it aside……relieving a very sleepy Linda and Courtney trying to finish watching a YouTube video without falling asleep.
Lea gently nudged them.
“Hey guys, you might want to try watching that in morning,” she said gently.
“But we’re almost……done with…..our……video……….” Linda said sleepily.
Lea shook her head.
I guess I’d better figure out how to get these two in bed…..and how to get them to finish cleaning tomorrow, thought Lea.
As she walked out of the room to go get Mom, she turned and looked closely at the tablet that Linda was holding.
Isn’t that the tablet that Ethan hid under Linda’s bed as a prank a few years ago? Lea thought.
She took a closer look at it and smiled.
I guess that’s why they never finished cleaning up, Lea thought.
As she started to walk out of the room, she stopped again.
The only question is: how did we all forget that thing was under there anyway? Lea wondered.
She shrugged and walked out of the room……without stopping this time.
